Musubi (moo-soo-bi) is roughly translated from Japanese as "tying the knot". Musubi, therefore, is the tying together of ki (energy) between individuals. Musubi emphasizes establishing strong connections between uke and nage. And Musubi sets the stage for receiving and transforming the technique in a powerful and harmonious manner. Soft high ukemi, reversals and safe falling are natural extensions of this practice.
